writing workshop

When I first came upon this story in writing workshop I sat down to tell my little one that we don't draw people going to the bathroom in school. Then he started telling me his story.

my brother was on the toilet
and the toilet water started to go up up up and water went everywhere and my brother was stuck!

so my dad came and got fixed it and the water went away.

ok, so maybe we wont share it with the whole class, but he has the concept of creating a story with a beginning, middle, and end across 3 pages.

Then I came across this little one and I immediately assumed she was writing strings of letters. When I sat down to ask her what her letters said she replied, "oh, these letters are so sad! the letter factory is broken! it wont make anymore letters!!"

see, here on the next page this man is yelling, "no more letters! no more letters!"

i'm not done, but the next page the letters start to disappear and all the people are so, so sad.

I think I see the beginning of a children's book... what would happen if all the letters disappeared?

Wow, what a fascinating tale. A boy getting stuck on the potty?????? Wow! I'd read it.
